Hello.
I'm Nolan and this is my first blog. The specific topics I am researching are: Hovercrafts, Hoverboards, and vehicles that hover. The first topic is about the Hovercrafts and so my first few blogs will be about them. I have decided to do the history of the hovercrafts and interesting facts about them. I will be doing more blogs about hovercrafts.
I figured out who "invented" the hovercraft. His name is : JOHN CE- actually wait. No, never mind. his name is Christopher Cockerell. and he named the hovercraft what it is today. He invented it in 1955-56 by taking a cat litter can and a large soup can and putting the cat one into the soup one. He blew air through the space between the 2 cans. The cat litter can hovered in the air until he couldn't blow anymore. There was a space between the two cans at the bottom caused by his air. He decided to call this: Hovering. Although this dates back to the years 1955-56, concepts of hovercrafts and other flying machines were thought of back in the early 1700's in Greece. Now back to real hovercraft history: A few years later in 1958 Christopher hired Saunders Roe to help construct the first "real" hovercraft. After years of prototypes they made the 20th hovercraft. This hovercraft however was the first to hover on water.
That has been all the research I have found out for my first blog. I wish to talk about the next blog later. See you soon!
